Texas License to Carry (LTC)

Range Time: 1 Hour

Class Description
This class meets the requirement for obtaining a Texas License to Carry (LTC) and covers the following topics: 

• Laws that relate to the use of weapons and deadly force 
• Non-violent dispute resolution 
• Handgun use and safety, including use of restraint holsters and methods to ensure the secure carrying of openly carried handguns 
• Proper storage practices for handguns with an emphasis on storage practices that eliminate the possibility of accidental injury to a child.

Curriculum Description
During this 5-6 hour course you will receive all state mandated classroom instruction to complete your License to Carry permit for Texas. You MUST pass the live fire handgun proficiency test and the 25-question written exam to earn your LTC. If you pass, you will receive your Completion of Training Certificate LTC 104 form. Upon submitting your application for your LTC Permit, you will be required to complete a background check and fingerprinting appointment. 

Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a legal resident of Texas, or apply for a non-resident license. Must be 21 years of age, unless active duty or honorably discharged from the military, then at least 18 years of age. Must not ever been convicted of a FELONY. Must not be currently charged with a Class A or Class B MISDEMEANOR or FELONY. Must not be chemically dependent, including alcohol. Must be capable of exercising sound judgment. Must not have been convicted of a Class A or Class B misdemeanor, or a disorderly conduct, in the past 5 years. Must be fully qualified under federal and state laws to purchase a handgun. Must not be delinquent in any payments to the state of Texas, including child support and property taxes. Must not be restricted by a protective or restring order involving a person. Must not have been convicted of a felony grade juvenile delinquent conduct in the previous 10 years. PLEASE BRING ALL FIREARMS AND MAGAZINES UNLOADED.

*NOTE: THIS IS NOT A LEARN TO SHOOT CLASS – YOU ARE EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY HANDLE ND FIRE A FIREARM PROFICIENTLY. IF YO NEED ADDTTIONAL TRAINING, INSTRUCTOR OFFERS FIREARM TRAINING FOR ALL LEVELS AND PRIVATE LESSONS.
