Class Description
Once you’ve built up confidence and have an understanding of the basic skills and fundamentals of operating a handgun, you’ll move on to the intermediate stages of pistol training. This course is designed to build upon the fundamentals you’ve developed in Women’s Basic Pistol Shooting course.

Here, you will explore:
  • Different Types of Firearms and Ammunition
  • Tips and Tactics for Picking Handgun Holsters
  • Drills that will challenge your skills while pushing you to the next level.

The overall goal of this course is to build your comfort and confidence while actively training.

This intermediate firearms training course is the next step following the Women’s Basic Pistol Shooting course. The Intermediate Pistol Shooting course is for women only is an informational and hands-on class in the carrying and use of a handgun in self-defense. Students should already be conversant in the safe handling and firing of a hand gun such as completing Women’s Basic Pistol Shooting course.

This 3-hour firearms training course covers:
  • Firearms Handling Safety
  • Range and Personal Safety
  • Summary of the legal and psychological issues involved in using a firearm for self-defense
  • Practice basic handling, operation, reloading, malfunction clearances, and shooting skills with training guns, “dry” in the classroom.

The course concludes with a range live-fire session allowing students to train with their own defensive handgun through a series of defensive drills.

This course is a good fit for ladies who want to further their skills with a handgun for home or personal protection or are considering carrying a handgun for self-defense.

Curriculum Description
In this module, Beth Alcazar expands on the building blocks outlined in Women’s Basic Pistol, with a detailed and visual explanation of the differences, the pros, and the cons of semi-automatics and revolvers; and even how these firearms can malfunction (and the procedures for correcting those malfunctions). Alcazar then introduces the student to holster options for concealed carry, and what every woman (and man) should know about establishing boundaries using the “color codes of awareness.” This lesson is summarized with a number of on and off the range exercises, allowing the student to put these intermediate skills to practice.
